Week 7 -The Result-

This week I have been preparing stuff to mount my pictures.
I decided to create hands using plaster paris. Its a very simple thing to do : prepare the plaster paris mixture, the pour it into a kitchen glove and wait 30min. I did that quite easily even though a thumb broke and I had to repair it.
I also bought a frame for my picture. It was a simple black frame which works very well with my black and white pictures. I was a bit worried that the heavy frame would break the fingers on my hand but when I tried, they didn't which is good. Here is the final result:

As you can see, the hands seem to be holding the picture up. This demonstrates very well that the hand is the perfect thing to hold and control objects. I am very happy with the result, it works much better than what I was expecting.

Week 6 -Final Pictures-

Today we had to print the pictures we would mount to create a 3D objects. I decided to only use pictures that were to do with "hand control" because I decide to create a hand made of clay. One of my ideas was that two clay hands would hold a frame which has my pictures. I though that it had to have some contrast so I decided to paint the hands when I will make them and put the pictures in black and white. I edited all the pictures messing about with the Black & White settings to make them look different. I then edited them together in Photoshop to put them on one single A4 page. Here are all of them:

I edited them together and printed them on glossy paper. Im not that happy with the pictures because they are not my best ones but they are the ones which relate the most to "hand control".
Next week I will mount the pictures.

Week 5 -Editing-

I spent most of today editing the pictures I took last week and did folder work. I believed that the most important is to document what I did so I decided to start doing to or three short explanations. Here are some pictures that I edited at home and at school.

I took this picture during the first photo shoot day.
I kept the colour on the skateboard and made the rest in black and white.
This could represent control of body parts.

I used the same concept for this picture, but this time I played with the settings of Black and White. For example I changed the colour blue to white instead of "greyish". This makes the tag look more vigorous and even colourful even though if it is in black and white.
I do not know what this has to do with control.

This is an example of what most of my pictures are. General control of objects around you.
